When Breeze was first built, the vision was to build the world’s easiest church management software system. And now, a few years later, we think we’ve done just that!
But there’s always room to improve and innovate and our development team has been hard at work doing something that, if all goes right, you won’t even notice.
Our team has been working on rebuilding portions of Breeze using a brand-new API and modern development framework called React.
The rebuild is a lot like a home remodeling project: rather than knock the whole house down and build a new one on top of the old one, we take it room-by-room, updating the electrical, plumbing and underlying structure, giving us a much better base to build an even nicer room. The beauty of doing a remodel this way is that the house is still sound, safe, and secure the whole time and you never have to move out.
Our tool of choice for this rebuild is “React”, an open source framework used by thousands of web sites to build rich, interactive interfaces used on browsers and mobile devices.
React gives our developers the tools to build new features faster and test those features much more thoroughly than we’ve ever been able to do with our existing framework. Additionally, it allows us to better test our updates and new features and prevent bugs from occurring.
Ultimately, we’re laying the foundation for innovative new features in Breeze.
This change supports one of our pillars of Breeze: longevity. We want to be built to last. We don’t want to be “great software for today”, we want to be “great software forever!”

- Mapping Accuracy
Occasionally Breeze is unable to map specific addresses on a person’s profile. In these cases, the message of “Sorry, we are unable to map this address” is displayed below the address, instead of a map. Learn more about Mapping Accuracy

We’ve added a number of new logged actions, including items like “subscription payment method updated” so that you know what actions other users are taking in Breeze. To see your logged actions go to More > Account Settings > Log. Learn what other logged actions you can view
