Update: Text Like the Pros
Up until now all texts sent through Breeze have come from a standard 10 digit phone number. While the ability to text was convenient, we recognized that there was room for improvement. The two pitfalls with the previous system were that 1) recipients could be confused about who was texting them, especially when the area code didn't match their own, and 2) cell phone carriers could see the high volume of texts and mark them as spam.
Today we're excited to announce that texts sent through Breeze will now come from a five digit shortcode number.
Texts will now come from:
This provides three advantages over the previous system:
1) Clarity
When recipients see the sending address, the shortcode indicates that it's an organization rather than an individual.
2) Reliability
Cell phone carriers do not limit the number of messages that can come from shortcode numbers in the way that they limit traditional 10 digit numbers.
3) Analytics
We've switched to a system that provides you greater feedback on if your texts were delivered. Text history can be found within "More > History > Text".
You can text from Breeze just like you always have and Breeze will use the new number - nothing else has changed. If you have any questions, just let us know.
We'd love to show you what we built!
